Note added 2026-07-31: this page is still correct for every case you are working today. Keep following it.

There is now an automation that sends QuickSubmit documents to the VA by itself, so eventually the manual upload steps below will not be needed. It is switched on for a small set of approved test cases only, so unless someone has told you a specific case is part of that pilot, the steps on this page are the process.

When it does reach your cases, one thing will change and it is worth knowing in advance. There will be an extra step before you tag the document: on the case's Quick Submit API tab, add the DRC UPLOADS row and set Benefit Claim Type first. If that row is missing, the automation deliberately stops and puts a note on the case rather than guessing which VA queue the document belongs in. Tagging first and filling the row afterwards will not work.

Questions, or you think a case you are working is in the pilot: ask Seth. Details in VA Connect Demo - Run Book (Sandbox) under LIFELINE > API & Integrations. Tracked on #446.

When you receive the signed Rep Packet, the next step is to submit the signed 21-22a and the Fee Agreement to the VA to request access to the veteran's file and be recognized as the veteran's representative.
