Crohn’s disease (a.k.a. granulomatous colitis) is a condition that causes the bowels to become irritated and swell.

The VA generally rates Crohn's disease analogously under DC 7323 for "ulcerative colitis", a disease of the colon where tears or open sores form in the tissues of the colon and cause bloody diarrhea. DC 7323 provides the best rating for the veteran, up to 100%.

However, some Regional Offices try to get away with rating Crohn's disease under DC 7319 for "irritable colon syndrome", which provides a maximum rating of 30%. So, when determining the rating for Chron’s Disease, make sure they rated it under 7323 NOT UNDER 7319.
