VA Disability Monthly Compensation -If you have any conditions that you believe were caused by, or aggravated by your time in service, this department can assist with getting you service-connected for monthly compensation or assist with an increase of a current rating. Evictions - If you are facing an eviction or have received a 5-day demand letter, our Legal Assistance for Warriors (LAW) program provides extensive pro-bono representation and reduced-fee assistance to eligible Rhode Island veterans in a variety of areas. Criminal Charges - If you are facing criminal charges, our Legal Assistance for Warriors (LAW) program provides extensive pro-bono representation and reduced-fee assistance to eligible Rhode Island veterans in a variety of areas. Housing – If you are in need of temporary rental assistance or financial assistance because you are at risk of becoming or currently homeless, please contact Ty Smith, the Director of Supportive Services at 401-383-4730 Ext 107 or via email at [email protected].
Social Security Disability Income – If you are looking to file a claim for SSDI, please complete the link below. Once submitted this form will be sent to Attorney Mariam Lavoie, a well-trusted referral of OSDRI. Mariam and her office will be in touch with you once your intake form is evaluated. Food Pantry - OSDRI also has a food pantry with personal hygiene products and clothing donations available to all veterans located at our Johnston Office, 1010 Hartford Avenue in Johnston, Rhode Island. Veterans may stop by once a month to use the food pantry during our regular business hours; Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
