Total Disability Individual Unemployability (TDIU).

This option allows disabled veterans who are unable to work due to service-connected disabilities to receive disability compensation equal to a 100% rating, even if their combined disability rating does not reach 100%. If granted TDIU, a veteran cannot make an earned income over the federal poverty threshold ($15,650 a year) and will receive a monthly compensation that reflects the pay of 100% rating. ($3,831.30 a month for single veterans)

To Qualify for TDIU: To qualify for TDIU, one of the following requirements must be true: •The applicant has one service-connected disability rated with a 60% or higher disability rating; or. •The applicant has two or more service-connected disabilities, and at least one of them is rated at 40% or more, and the combined rating is 70% or more
