Anyone who lived or worked on the base for at least 30 days from 1953 to 1987 may qualify to file for Camp Lejeune birth defects.
This includes women who were pregnant, women who lost pregnancies, and anyone born on the base between 1953 and 1987 when the Camp Lejeune water was contaminated.
For family members to file a claim for Health Care Benefits for conditions caused by contaminated water at Camp Lejeune, the family members would have had to live at Camp Lejeune, between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987, for at least 30 days. If they did live on base during this time and have been diagnosed with one of the 15 specified illnesses or medical conditions listed in the law, they may qualify for Health Care Benefits.
