This information is very important to preserve your rights on appeal, if necessary. The Comp & Pen Examiners are required to provide certain information for each report. If the medical opinion is unfavorable, we may be able to use your statement in a future appeal to attack the thoroughness of the exam.

Your exit survey will also help ensure that you receive the most accurate rating for your condition. Because the Comp & Pen Exam often determines your rating evaluation, your statement regarding the thoroughness of your exam may be the key factor in winning your case should we need to appeal the VA’s decision in the future.
