Understanding the VA Process

Step 1: Determine whether you need PMRs

  1. Navigate to the Treatment Tab in the case to determine whether the client has treated anywhere other than the VA Medical Centers.

  2. If they have, make sure a claim has been submitted by checking the Class Code

If the Class Code is either CLAIM, RFD, or SUPP, a claim is pending before the VA

<aside> 🪙 Pro Tip: If the claim needs to be filed in the Supplemental Lane (0995), an updated PMR Request may serve as the new and relevant evidence to reopen a previously denied claim.
