Buddy Statements - your case manager will be reaching out to you shortly to help you put together your statements to use as evidence in your case. While medical records, service documents, and medical journal articles provide objective data and facts, your personal statement and the statements of others (buddy statements) provide a subjective, first-hand account of your experiences and provides a deeper understanding of your condition and its impact on your daily activities, personal relationships, and overall quality of life. In addition to your statements, you can ask close friends and family members to put together a buddy statement for your case. Buddy statements are an important piece of evidence from friends, family, or fellow service members who have witnessed your condition and can provide insight into how your symptoms have impacted you over time. Buddy statements can also serve as additional evidence to show that an events or injury took place during service that may have led to your disability.
